I first heard Pist.on on a Kerrang! Compilation tape - the song Grey Flap. The song stood out- Quite slow but still load n rockin'! When I first spun the disc I expected there to be a few good songs - the first tracks starts crap - the lyrics "on the edge, on the edge I believe i'm on the edge" don't particularly show any inspiration but this is just to lull you in to a false sence of shitness - the rest of the album (and even that song "Parole") rocks!(which inspired me to review it!)

There are quite a few slow n medolic rock songs like "I am no one" but they are not boring - they are as loud as the rest! - but with occasional mellower bits to make the kick-ins have greater effect! - The tunes are catchy but not easy. They sorta have their own style but I s'pose their sound is a bit like whatever(see other review!)

All the songs, except one, are written by Pist.on. The other one is Morrisey's "Shoplifters of the world unite" - I heard the original on the radio and I definatly prefer pist.on's rock version - The tune was recognisibly the same but pist.on just make something of it! All the lyrics to the self-written songs are in the box - but you can tell most of them anyway!

I like all 12 tracks - it starts rocking (after the 1st line!) and ends with a mellow Exit wound A lot of thought must have gone into the name - but even more went into the music! Pist.on should do well - I'd be suprised if they don't and I think Val Ium(I wonder if that's her real name!) is definatly the next babe in rock!
